On: Sunday, 12 Sep 2021
Venue: Away

We started off the ISFA 6's tournament held at Bradfield College with a relative young side made of Year 12 and Year 11 boys.

In the group stages we started of against Bradfield B team and we're quickly 2-0 down at half time. In the second half we staged a comeback to eventually win our first match 3-2.

Our second opponents were City of London who broke quickly from there defensive shape and scored a couple of goals aided by some mistakes within our team. The eventually score ended 5-0 to our opponents.

Third match was against Royal Russell one of the favourites for the tournament and we were taught a good lesson in how to look after the ball. Russell were excellent and exploited the full pitch and at half time the score was 3-0. In the second half we produced a better performance by pressing our opponents which resulted in us scoring a great goal. Final score 4-1.

In our next game we played Marlborough and produced our best performance to date narrowly winning 1-0.

Our final group match was against Winchester and we pressed well and scored 2 quick goals which saw us controlling the game. In the second half Winchester pressed high and scored to reduce the deficit. We hung on to win the match 2-1.

This now saw us finished second in our group as we reached the knockout stages of the tournament where our opponents were to be the host school Bradfield. On a wide pitch and having played 5 matches upto then our opponents exploited the spaces and took a 2-0 lead to half time. In the second period they kept the ball well and added a further 2 goals to leave the final score 4-0.

Overall this should serve as a fantastic learning experience for the team leading up to our fixtures for the season ahead and we can look forward to playing again in the tournament next season.
