Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School U13A vs  The Grammar School at Leeds
On: Saturday, 04 Sep 2021
Venue: Away

A trip down to The Grammar School at Leeds where the U13's got ready to represent their school after a difficult 18 months due to COVID. The boys showed lovely core skills in their passing and real progress throughout the morning in developing their game awareness. To begin with, Leeds and Manchester Grammar formed 4 barbarians sides who all played each other utilising the 'Ready for Rugby' format that was introduced by the RFU, followed by three carousal stations of ruck touch, looking at the offload and tackle technique. 20 minutes at the end of the morning, The Manchester Grammar played Leeds in a competitive fixture where conditions we put in place that allowed a steady introduction to contact rugby. The boys were GREAT and certainly learnt a great deal from the morning and a real thank to The Grammar School of Leeds who put pupils development first rather than us versus them. U13's are away at Stockport next week and we look forward to the new challenges lying ahead.
