The Manchester Grammar School Vs Trinity CofE School

On a cold Monday night MGS faced a tricky Trinity side in the first round of the Manchester Cup. MGS began the game in their usual attacking style, harrowing the Trinity defence who did well to withstand MGS's fantastic attack. Trinity then began to attack more, but nothing came out of ant half-chances that they had. The first half came to a close with both sides yet to score but MGS very much knocking on the Trinity door.

The second half began with MGS taking an early lead through a composed finish by Isaac. Trinity needed a goal to put them level with MGS and their star man came into life. The MGS defence stood strong against some skilful Trinity players, as the heavy rain continued to lash down. After a couple of nice skill moves, the Trinity star player took a hopeful shot which went into the far corner, bringing Trinity level.

The result would then be decided by extra time, which begun with MGS strongly dominating. MGS then got a corner which was whipped in towards Jayden who slid it into the right corner. MGS continues to attack despite an important lead they needed to hold on to. The second half of extra time came, and went with Jasper sealing the game with a calm finish. The game ended MGS 3-1 Trinity.
