Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 1st XV vs  Crossley Heath School
On: Saturday, 18 Jan 2020
Venue: at Home

This was a great opportunity to play an U17 Development side and give some fringe players the chance to play 1st team rugby. It was obvious from the first line out that MGS had more power up front, Noah Ellis set up a good base with a good take, the ball was moved to the back with precision and the maul was expertly driven forward from 35m out before Alex Woodward steered the ship and scored from the back of the maul. This set the tone and our attacking play throughout was top quality. George Arnold was proving a major threat with every carry, Seb Murphy (coming back from injury) added some physicality in defence, Jack Whiteley worked tirelessly at the breakdown and Ben Simpson pulled the strings from 10 all impressed. There were several debuts and every player impressed which bodes well for the future.

Man of the Match: Jack Whiteley and George Arnold.
