Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 2nd XV vs  St Anselm's College, Birkenhead
On: Saturday, 05 Oct 2019
Venue: Away

Without a "Talisman" and with our usual 9,10, 12, 13 and 15 away it looked like it could be a long day at St. Anselms. The Under 16s stepped up and played some great rugby - keeping to the patterns we had looked at on Thursday - apart from when Sam "Maverick" Murphy decided to kick away posession or go on a mazy run. The forwards ran some good lines and got over the gain line giving us good front foot ball and enabling us to pressure the opponents' try line. Alex Lee went over for our first try, followed by scores from Johnson and Taylor. Taylor, Ahmed, Robinson, Allonby and day all had strong performances on debut.

This week we will need to work on our discipline to avoid a repeat of the 17 penalties we gave away in the second half.

Johnson is MoM for a strong attacking and defensive performance.
