Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 1st XV vs  Stockport Grammar School
On: Saturday, 14 Sep 2019
Venue: Away

A glorious sunny morning greeted the boys at Stockport Grammar in what is always traditionally a fiercely competitive match payed by two attacking minded schools.

Tommy Archer opened the scoring after spotting a gap down the short side for a sharp score. Ollie Hill timed his run to perfection for his trademark ‘T’ Ball score unopposed under the posts. Ben Simpson took a quick tap penalty and scuttled away for an opportunist try. George Arnold burrowed over for a debut try and Hamaad Shariff’s interception try put the visitors 31-0 up after only 25 minutes. The game then became a bit of a procession with further tries from Haeden Johnson x 2, Ollie Hill, George Arnold, Seb Murphy, Archie Jones, Travis Blood and Jordon Oluwadare. Ben Simpson kicking 9 conversions.

Although the score line looks impressive Stockport players really stuck to their guns and competed all the way to the end to their credit. MGS on this performance were just too strong and powerful with forwards dominating every collision and the backs looking dangerous in attack.
