Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 1st XI vs  The King's School, Chester
On: Saturday, 07 Mar 2020
Venue: Away

After a scrappy start Kings Chester took the lead from a deflected effort. MGS fought back as Louis Muir smashed one in from close range after a great ball from Joe O. As the half went on MGS began to put themselves under pressure with some poor play out the back and Kings capitalised on this after MGS gave the ball away, 2-1 Kings at half time. Straight after the break MGS high press paid off as we won the ball back high up and after some great link up play from Haydn, Joe slotted one into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. MGS has the momentum and after a over the top through ball from Callum, Jack Chapman chased the ball, squared it back to the edge of the box and Max Howard finished off the move well. MGS were playing well and took advantage of the pressure as Louis Muir bagged his brace from a rebound. As the game was coming to a close Will Fitchew spotted the run of Joe and smashed the ball over the top, Joe finished with a smart lob over the keeper. The game ended 5-2 MGS
