On: Monday, 14 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

MGS U12 came up against East Leake Academy in round of 32 of ESFA.

On a cold Monday in January, MGS travelled to Nottinghamshire for a very tough game against East Leake Academy. The game started off with both teams attacking the opposition’s net well but neither team scoring. MGS had a few balls played through to Isaac but all were given offside to the annoyance of MGS. MGS went through to half time with the score 0-0. MGS were then quick out of the blocks with Samee superbly finishing a 1v1 against East Leake’s goalkeeper. East Leake kept on pushing and a good run from the East Leake midfielder left the score 1-1 at full time. MGS went into extra time fired up and ready to go. Some good defending from the MGS boys ensured that MGS wouldn’t concede the second. Both teams had some good chances but neither team scored. MGS went into the second half of extra time with the score at 1-1. MGS started the next half well. Lucas drove forward and released a rocket shot that hit the crossbar but luckily Isaac made the rebound and finished it with composure. MGS managed to hold onto their lead and won 2-1, to keep their unbeaten streak going.
