Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School Boys-U15B vs  St Francis Xavier's College
On: Thursday, 08 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

The U15’s started off pressing the other team hard. We managed to defend a couple of their advances but the skilfulness of their attack and midfield allowed St Francis Xavier’s to get a goal. Luckily our heads were held high, and we pressed even harder and forced the opposing team’s defence to work hard. We managed to get a freekick which almost bent into the top corner of the net, but to no avail.

Jibril managed to put a perfectly weighted cross into the far post for Ed to place in the back of the net making the score 1-1. Unfortunately, St Francis Xavier’s managed to force another goal into the otherwise strong MGS defence. We luckily managed to get back another goal as Will crossed the ball in, forcing one of the opposing team’s defender to try and clear it but accidently scoring an own goal. This put the score at 2-2.

When MGS conceded for the third time, there was constant overload on the MGS defence which led to a few more goals being scored. MGS had some brilliant chances, but they could not be converted. The end score was 7-2, despite the great effort from the MGS U15’s.
