Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School Boys-U12B vs  St Bede's College, Manchester
On: Saturday, 06 Oct 2018
Venue: at Home

Saturday saw the first loss of the season for the U12's B team against a very good St Bede's team.

On a cool autumn morning, St Bede's quickly got into their rhythm passing the ball around comfortably with MGS trying to press them.

After around 10 minutes St Bede's won a corner which was whipped in, their attackers reacted quicker and the ball was nodded in at the far post.

Despite working hard just before half time the St Bede's striker tried his luck with a long shot which unfortunately took Ethan by surprise and he was unable to keep out.

The second half continued in the same way as the first, pressure from St Bede's with some strong defending from both the defenders and the midfielders who were back helping out.

MGS did have some chances, a long shot by Freddie, and some half chances fell to Andrew, Tommy & Daniel but a block or a save meant we were unable to get on the score board.

Later in the second half as we got a little tired, the opposition scored a third which was a great solo effort which gave our keeper no chance.

The final goal was conceded within the last few minutes straight from a free kick which went over the wall and dropped into the top corner.

Overall it was a tough game but one which we will learn from.
