Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School 3rd XI vs  St Bede's College, Manchester
On: Saturday, 06 Oct 2018
Venue: at Home

On the 6th of October, MGS’s 3rd XI played against St Bede’s 2nd XI at home. MGS started well, dominating early on in terms of both possession and chances created. MGS combined well on the wings, with fullbacks pushing high to exploit the weaknesses in the St Bede’s defence. George Howling finished well into the bottom right corner after 15 minutes, just before unfortunately taking a knock which left MGS with only 10 players. However, MGS continued to play well. Louis Muir managed to break through the defence with 2 well taken goals, which took MGS to a 3-0 lead by half time (not to mention 2 excellent one-on-one saves from keeper Aum). MGS kept up the beautiful football into the second half, which proved to be too good for St Bede’s. Sammy Olsberg struck early on into the half, followed up by a beautiful long range goal from Yaseen Afzal. The 10 men of MGS proceeded to keep almost undisturbed possession for the remainder of the match, leaving the final score at 5-0 to MGS.
