Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School Boys-U12A vs  Cheadle Hulme School
On: Tuesday, 02 Oct 2018
Venue: Away

On a sunny afternoon at Cheadle Hulme school, the first round of the ESFA tournament was played.

After a 10 minute warm up for both teams, the first whistle went. Straight away, Isaac was putting pressure on their defenders but Cheadle managed to get past the pressure and play a nice counter attack. As the first half carried on, there were lots of shots from both teams but the keepers didn’t concede. The biggest chance so far was Isaacs run down the line before he put a great ball in but it wasn’t finished. The first half had eventually ended with MGS putting on Will Clift and Will Murdock.

As the first whistle for the second half came MGS passed around until Cheadle intercepted. Hudson and Finn came on after 4-5 mins of the second half in left back and centre back. MGS were dominating for the first 15 minutes until Isaac scored an absolute cracker from outside the box to make it 1-0 to MGS after a close first half. Straight away MGS got a corner but unfortunately, the ball was cleared to the Cheadle winger who made a great run, passed it in the box and Cheadle equalized. MGS still didn’t have their heads down and both teams were ready to attack! Straight away the ball was passed to the Cheadle winger and he made another good run, put a cross in and a volley was scored by the Cheadle striker again! MGS heads went down until Will Clift had a free kick and scored it! MGS were going crazy and straight away the end whistle went

Extra time was coming. Two subs were made for MGS. The first half of extra time was mainly passing around in the middle until the first half of extra time whistle was blown. Mr Granger and Mr Wilson told the MGS boys to attack and before they knew it the whistle was blown and MGS were on the attack. Will Murdock put a great ball to Isaac who took it past the defender and scored! MGS have made a great comeback! The rest of the game was MGS defending until the last whistle went and MGS went crazy! The game had finished 3-2 to MGS what a game!
