Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School Boys-U14B vs  Rossall School
On: Saturday, 22 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

The boys came in to this game needing a win after a few results that didn’t go their way, and they started the game positively and moved the ball well. Unfortunately they conceded against the run of play, but this sparked a turnaround and some of the goals we scored were really impressive. Joe Boden caused all sorts of problems for the Rossall back line in a man of the match performance, and scored two goals for his troubles. The boys adapted really well to the 3-5-2 formation on the bigger pitch of toastrack and enjoyed being able to use the full width of a wide pitch. Will and Ikechi combined really effectively at times in the second half down the right flank and Sammy battled well in the centre on his school debut. While we could ensure we are a bit more solid at the back, this was a really entertaining, end-to-end game of football and the boys played with a superb attitude which saw them come home with a satisfying win, The final goal was what some are describing as premier league-esque, with an excellent corner delivered from the left, a looped pass knocked back over the heads of the defensive to Zhill who had evaded the offside trap and finished on the volley first time. Final score 4-2 to MGS.
