Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School Boys-U15A vs  Rossall School
On: Saturday, 22 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

After an early start and a long bus journey the U-15’s arrived at Rossal hoping for a win. Due to the long journey we weren’t allowed much time to warm up, despite a few achy muscles we kicked off. We started strong with a few early chances from the strikers, we were pressing high and looked solid at the back. However, a goal still didn’t come, despite constant chances coming from the right-hand wing where the ball would get played to Aadam Hassan and he would beat his man every time. It was edging further and further towards half time and still no goals. Just as we looked as if we might get a goal the Rossal goalkeeper played a looping ball over the top right to the feet of their number 7 who managed to slot it past Nick with a good finish. At half time moral was low after conceding a late goal, but we went into the second half with the attitude to win. We looked threatening throughout, yet still we had no reward, by now everyone was tired, and heads started to drop. With ten minutes of the game left Nick our keeper suffered a bad head injury from a corner and had to come off, leaving us no option but to replace him with an outfield payer meaning we were down to ten men. It came to the last minute and it looked as if we had come all this way for a loss. However right towards the last minute one of our midfielders played a good ball, splitting the defence and leaving only Arvin our striker to run onto it. After a scramble between Arvin, the opposition keeper and some defenders he managed to get a foot on the ball sending it through the goalie’s legs and into the back of the net. Finally, our hard work had shown some reward and we could return to Manchester with a draw.
