The Manchester Grammar School Boys-U13A vs  Lymm High School
On: Wednesday, 12 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

The first 11-aside game of the season against a strong, competitive Lymm side started brightly. Vardon and Webb began to control midfield, creating chances for the ever lively Mosope up front.

Yet a breakaway goal, scored by Lymm's stand-out striker, killed the early MGS momentum. Lymm continued to press hard, and despite the best efforts of Doherty and Bass, Lymm scored another three before half-time.

The two Freddie's, Brookshaw and Savage, turned the momentum back towards MGS at the start of the second. A smart run from Brookshaw leading to a penalty calmly converted by Mosope. Savage's range of passing was causing the Lymm defence trouble, but another breakaway goal ended any comeback hopes. A tired MGS conceded twice more; however, there was still time for Savage to find the top corner from the corner of the box, to cap his fine second half display.
