Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School U13A vs  Calday Grange Grammar School
On: Saturday, 26 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

A brilliant display by the U13a squad against a decent Calday Grange Grammar side who had plenty of aggression and speed. It was the best I have seen us play and shows how hard they've worked to improve this season.

Captain Kit Sanders was once again in devastating form, always making big yardage and forcing CGGS to make difficult, brave tackles. Oliver Hobson also continued his superb form and was fantastic at full back. His running and support play won him plenty of plaudits on the touchline.

Harrison Rafferty and Josh Oluwadare both scored two top tries each whereas the front five also had a solid game impressing in the scrum. Tom Fountain scored his first try for the A team and again reminded us how far he's progressed as a player. His partner in crime, James Chamberlain, also scored from second row.

Ethan Bass played in the forwards today to give him some valuable insight into different rugby positions, he carried strongly and scored once again.

I could have named every player as Man of the Match but it was the defensive work and support play of Sam Simmonds that stood out. Coming on as sub, thwarting their faster/larger winger every time, which was vital in this win.

Thanks to the refs, parent, CGGS and of course the boys, a very well done!!

Score: 55 - 15
