Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School U13A vs  Altrincham Grammar School for Boys
On: Saturday, 17 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

Another great match full of MGS grit and determination! Altrincham were a large/strong pack and used the "pick and go" very well. We had to quickly respond to their direct style of play to keep us in the game.

Superb performances from all, especially Smith, Lee, Lama and Simmonds meant that MGS were always competitive and dangerous. In the second half, we had to defend doggedly as we were camped in our own 22m area for long periods but the tackling and rucking was both brave and vital.

Man of the match, Tom Fountain put in some huge hits and had an influential game throughout.

Although we lost 15-10, our style of play and improvement in tackling was there for all to see. These boys are progressing well and should be proud of their recent performances. Once again great scrummaging by the MGS pack!!
