Match Report
The Manchester Grammar School Boys-U15B vs  The King's School, Chester
On: Saturday, 12 Oct 2019
Venue: Away

We were exited going into this game as only two weeks before we had won 4-0 however we still were sceptical about ourselves and how we could perform. We had a little scare when warming up as our keeper didn’t arrive until 5 minutes before kick off. We kicked off with a strong starting 11 and started well being dominant in there half of the pitch however we weren’t creating many chances. We were caught on the counter attack and unfortunately Bilal gave away a penalty which there player slotted away comfortably. 1-0. We kept our heads held high and soon after Rafay won a free kick on the edge of the box and Patrick stepped up to take it and he didn’t fail powering it straight passed the keeper into the top corner. 1-1. Then they took the lead late in the second half through a counter attack where Bilal was left 3 in 1 as the other defenders were caught up in the break and they passed it round Bilal and chipped Arun. Going into the second half we weren’t happy with the way we were playing and knew we could play better and after a convincing team talk from Mr Wilson we went back on feeling confident. We were solid at the back with not much getting past us and we equalised through a good piece of link up play between Zain and James leaving Zain with a composed finish slotting the ball home. 2-2. We were dominating heavily now and were playing great football switching the play and comfortably controlling the game. Then out of some good football fired one homes from the edge of the box with his weak foot. 3-2. Then for the rest of the game it was end to end football but no team really testing the keeper however we were breaking there defensive line often but not making much of it until Dele made a great run and perfectly chipped the keeper getting even Mr Wilson celebrating. 4-2. The game finished 4-2 and Bilal was awarded with Man of the Match and the whole team putting in a good shift with a few stand out performances from James, Patrick, Dele and Zain also with Joe putting in a great shift burning defenders in the second half.
