MGS started off the first half strong. We dominated possession and constantly put pressure on the oppositions goal throughput the first half. MGS were the first to score with Ted Ball finishing off a well worked opportunity by MGS. However, Marleth equalized with their striker pouncing on a mistake from the MGS defence. MGS quickly regained control though as Ted picked the ball up on the half line and dribbled it all the way to Marleths net, beating 4 players in the process, and took it round the keeper to slot the ball into an empty net. Jamie Roberts then headed into the net from a corner to add a third goal. Hayden Davies scored directly from a corner to make it 4-1 just before halftime.

MGS picked up where they left off in the second half with Ben Chapman clinically finishing off a 1v1 situation with the opposition keeper. As MGS kept the pressure up on the opposition, te ball bounced out to the edge of the box, Zach Smyth stepped up and magnificently hit the ball first time into the top corner. 5 minutes later however, Ted scored a goal that was equally as skillful and impressive. Ted picked the ball up in our half and dribbled through 5 Marleth players before taking round the keeper for the second time in the game. He also took it round the defender that was scrambling on the goal line before finishing the wonderful solo run off to make it 7-1. MGS didn’t stop there as we added another goal through Jamie Roberts from another corner. Hamish Rimmer, Callum Livingstone and George Archer also got onto the scoresheet to make it 11-1. Just before the final whistle the Marleth striker managed to pick up the ball on the edge of the box and delicately chipped the ball into the net, clipping the crossbar along the way. The game finished 11-2 and it was a very dominating performance by a strong MGS team.
